Senior Patent Counsel

Core Job Responsibilities:
•Provide a full range of patent support functions, including patent preparation and prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis, rendering opinions, managing outside counsel, drafting and negotiating license and research collaboration agreements, due diligence support for business development and client counseling.
•Regularly make presentations and interact with the business regarding patent and intellectual property related contractual matters.
Qualifications
•A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a biological related science is required; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
•Educational and/or work experience in the U.S. or with a U.S. based multinational corporation is preferred.
•A minimum of 10 years of biotechnology patent experience at a law firm or in-house legal department of a multinational corporation is required.
•Ability to articulate and positively engage clients and internal partners is required.
•Capability to give well organized, thoughtful presentations to upper management is required.
•The candidate must be fluent in both written and spoken English, be able to communicate effectively, and demonstrate the ability to counsel senior management.
